RTM: Régie des transports de Marseille (Marseille Transport Authority)

To enjoy a stroll in the Phocaean city or in the region, the best way to save money is to choose the different bus solutions in Marseille. Focus on the different services available in the Phocaean city.

The RTM is the Marseilles intramural transport network. It brings together bus, tram and metro transport services.

In terms of buses in Marseille, the RTM has no less than 80 lines and 1,238 stops. By downloading the RTM application you will have in real time the arrival time of the selected bus at the desired location. Everything is obviously not perfect, and some errors remain with buses sometimes announced and then deleted without the application notifying you.But these mistakes are quite rare to be honest.

The Tourist Office sells City Pass from 24€ to 39€ (depending on the number of hours chosen) which gives you access to many tourist services such as free access to the museum, the Petit Train, but also to all public transport (except maritime shuttles).

RTM tariffs

The ticket (bus - metro - tramway) taken at the terminal is 1€60 for the first purchase. It is then rechargeable (don't throw it away!!!!!), the price then decreases to 1€50. This ticket allows you to benefit from one hour of connection (including round trip) throughout the RTM network. However, please note that you are limited to only one access to the metro. This same ticket will cost you much more on a bus, 1€90, so don't hesitate to take it at a terminal, even if it means taking a few more steps. The bollards are positioned inside the metros or at the stops of the tramway.

On vacation for several days? Other packages are available, more economical and/or practical:

2 trips card at 3€10 (at the first purchase, then 3€)

10 trips card at 13€50 (at the first purchase, then 13€40)

Group card for 4 people at 4€80

As for the price, everything will depend on your journey, depending on the distance covered, the price will be more or less important. Except for Senior tickets (over 65 years old) and Youth Pass 24 (under 26 years old) which both benefit from a single fare for a one-way trip: 1€50 for seniors and 2€ for youth.

Single tickets and discounted tickets can be purchased at Ticketreize outlets or on board buses.
