In an exceptional natural setting of green hills, at the foot of the Sainte Baume massif, the village of Nans les Pins enjoys a privileged geographical position. This small village, typical of Provence, is a place where visitors can enjoy stunning walks and a history rich in legends.

The history of Nans les pins is very old, as evidenced by dolmens and tumulus, which attest to a human presence since the Neolithic period. A 12th century feudal castle stands on the heights to provide a better defence. From the Old Nans, there are only a few ruins left overlooking the top of a hill at 530 metres above sea level, the current village is about a hundred meters high. The Chemin des Roys crosses the town. Since the Middle Ages, it is a popular pilgrimage route used by many French and foreign royalty, as well as by other famous people.
