Come and discover the small village of Cucuron

It is one of the most beautiful villages in Provence. The name Cucuron is associated with several origins. Some versions attribute it to Julius Caesar who would have exclaimed " cur currrunt " (why do they run?) when he saw the inhabitants running. For others, the etymology would come from the Celtic and would refer to the geographical situation of the village built on two nipples (in Celtic cuc means nipple). A typical village in Provence, Cucuron is also known as the Montagne Noire, because it is the perfect starting point for hiking to discover our magnificent region and its small Provençal villages.

Its ramparts, its dungeon, its pond, you will fall for Cucuron. Like all rural villages, Cucuron has undergone a period of depopulation. But the phenomenon is reversed because of the excellent lifestyle it offers, with 300 days of sunshine per year. Taking a vacation rental in Cucuron is perfect to have a good weather! At the bottom of the Luberon mountain, the panorama is incredible with the Sainte Baume in the background and the Alps in the distance. Imagine waking up during your holidays in Provence in front of such a view! And there are plenty of holiday homes, hotels, holiday home rentals or hotel apartments in the Luberon! Cucuron is also a very lively village all year round, with many cultural events.
