Vinon sur Verdon: a typical village in the countryside

Typical village in Provence at the crossroads of four departments and at the junction of the Durance and Verdon valleys, Vinon-sur-Verdon is a stone's throw from the famous Gorges du Verdon. Like all Provençal villages, it will seduce you with its setting and quality of life. The small alleys of the old districts from the 17th and 18th centuries are the perfect spot for magnificent walks before enjoying the coolness of the squares lined with plane trees.

In the old town, you can admire the 15th century Saint Sauveur Church and the view it offers overlooking the village. Vinon-sur-Verdon was once an important place for transhumance. It is supposed that its plane trees were planted by shepherds from Arles in the 18th century to protect them from the sun during their transhumance.

Today, these sumptuous plane trees continue to offer shade and freshness to the visitors. Located in the village's central square called "le Cours", it is the meeting place for all generations who come to relax and play petanque. This same square also hosts the Provençal market every Sunday morning.

Vinon-sur-Verdon is a perfect destination for your holidays in Provence. There are plenty of accommodations in the region. Whether you are more of a hotel, holiday residence, apartment hotel or holiday home, come and visit Provence for a sunny stay full of adventures!
