Are you looking for activities in Marseille? Marseille Tourisme has the solution and offers you an easy hike, accessible for the whole family. Direction the Barrage de Bimont for the beginning of this hiking tour.

The Barrage de Bimont

We offer you a loop that starts at the parking lot of the Barrage de Bimont. With its 87 meters high, the dam is impressive. It was commissioned in 1952 and covers 73 hectares with a productivity of 9 GWh/year. However, if you go there, until September 2019 the dam will only be accessible for the public on weekends and public holidays due to renovation work.

Hiking to discover the chemin de Roques Hautes

If you like hiking in Provence, this one will not disappoint you. During this walk, you will cross several meadows and a magnificent view of Sainte-Victoire, another bonus hiking proposal. It is possible to walk with your family and it will take you about 2h30 to walk the 6.5 km of this trail. The hike will therefore start at the Barrage de Bimont and will take you to discover the Chemin de Roques Hautes and its marble quarry. If you like this setting, why not rent an ATV to explore the trails marked out by the Conseil Général. For the more adventurous, consider renting hiking equipment to prepare your excursions.
