The hiking trail starts from the village of Lauzet, which is nestled between two rocks, remains from the glacial era. This charming little village in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence has a lake and perfect landscapes for a holiday. From the summit reached during the hike, you can overlook the entire valley from Pontis to Les Séolanes. Avoid getting close to the edges of the rock because the edges are steep. The cross made of larch wood from the valley weighs 150kg. The Lauzet-Ubaye Heritage Preservation Association changed the cross in 2014. Can you imagine it being carried on the backs of men?

To come back to the village, we recommend you to take the Route du Moulin. If you like hiking, why not take one of our suggestions for hiking in Provence? Have you thought about mountain biking? If you plan to go on longer hikes, we recommend that you consider renting hiking equipment in addition to water bottles and a hat.
