Welcome to the Alpes de Haute Provence. This geologists' paradise conceals many treasures, especially in the Bay of Angles. The rock outcrop formed in the sea is the most complete series of rocks from the Barrémien, the era between 117 and 113 million years ago, a time when dinosaurs still lived. Angles is therefore a world fiefdom for scientists interested in this period.

During your hike to Angles, you can discover ammonite fossils (cephalopod molluscs) that can be recognized by the spiral of their shell. Be careful, however, fossil collection is highly regulated on the territory of the Haute Provence geological reserve in which Angles is located. The charming and peaceful village of Angles is nestled in a peaceful greenery. There is a parking lot on the village square. Difficulty: Average (4h - 8km) Marking: Yellow Height difference: 730 m
